Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Injections

PRP therapy promotes radiant skin and fuller hair using your own body’s natural healing ability.

The human body has a remarkable system to repair physical issues by sending blood platelets to the affected area. With Platelet-Rich Plasma treatment, we concentrate this healing power onto areas you want to target such as wrinkles, scars, and hair loss. This results in smoother, more even skin and noticeably thicker hair without the need for invasive surgery.
PRP Before and After - Aesthetiq Med Spa

What Does Platelet-Rich Plasma Treat?

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) first gained popularity as a way to relieve pain and speed up the healing of broken tissues and joints. Many professional athletes use it to help repair injured muscles, ligaments, and tendons, and therapists also apply it to treat a variety of musculoskeletal issues.

PRP is now a wondrous technique in aesthetics, as it restores your skin’s youthful glow and your hair’s healthy volume. It stimulates the production of your own collagen and regenerates damaged tissue, so it can:
Smoothen and tighten your skin naturally
Reduce fine lines and wrinkles
Minimize acne scars, wound scars, and sun damage
Lighten dark undereye circles
Improve skin texture and tone
Stimulate hair follicles and rejuvenate hair growth
Stop thinning hair
Improve receding hairline
Alleviate pattern baldness.

How Does PRP Injection Work?

How Does PRP Injection Work?
Platelets are natural components of the human blood whose function is to repair tissue damage such as wounds. With PRP aesthetic therapy, we’ll use your own platelets to restore the health of your skin or scalp.

First, we’ll draw a small sample of your blood and place it in a sterilized tube. We then spin this sample in a centrifuge to segregate the various components of the blood. Platelets and plasma are separated from red and white blood cells. The number of platelets in the plasma is now higher than normal, thus becoming platelet-rich plasma.

We then apply the PRP onto your targeted skin or scalp areas, letting the healing platelets work their magic.

Treatment and Downtime

PRP is a minimally invasive treatment that normally takes less than an hour. The treatment itself takes about 45 minutes, though we’ll apply a topical numbing cream 45 minutes before the procedure.
There is very little downtime for your recovery. Depending on the issue being treated, the downtime could range from two to four days. Acne scars and wrinkles, for example, may call for longer downtime.

Side Effects

PRP injections have few negative effects because the patient is using their own blood, which they should have no reaction to. Following the procedure, it’s best to have a period of relative relaxation, usually followed by a progressive stretching and strengthening regimen.

When Do I See Results from PRP Treatment?

With PRP facelift, you may notice smoother, more vibrant skin within just three days. More improvements will develop in the subsequent months, such as scar softening and reduction of deeper lines.

With PRP hair restoration, new hair growth will occur over three to four weeks after treatment. Some clients also notice thicker, stronger hair growth within three months of their first injection.

How Long Do Platelet-Rich Plasma Injections Last?

Tests have shown that PRP injections are helpful for six to nine months. For best facial results, we recommend you come in for a PRP treatment once every 12 months. Meanwhile, for best hair restoration results, most patients need three to four treatments, one month apart.

Is a PRP Injection Worth It?

For many people, PRP therapy is worth it, particularly because it produces great results without having to undergo surgery. It’s proven safe as it uses the client’s own natural platelets. If you’re considering this treatment, trust only certified aestheticians who can perform the procedure safely and accurately.

Does Insurance Pay for PRP Injections?

Because many health insurance companies consider PRP to be an elective treatment, it is frequently not covered by insurance.
