Body Sculpting Starts Here
Aesthetiq Institute is a working medical spa and the Midwest's elite medical aesthetics training center. One of our main areas of expertise is body sculpting.
CoolTone and Emsculpt are two of the most popular, powerful, and advanced non-invasive sculpting options in the medspa field by toning muscle and accelerating fat metabolism in the abdomen, buttocks, and thighs. If you have unwanted fat in these problem areas, we can help figure out which one is best for you!
What is CoolTone (and Emsculpt)?
Emsculpt and CoolTone are comparable products. Both use powerful magnetic technology to stimulate muscles. Here are some other similarities:
- Short treatment sessions of about 30 minutes
- Zero downtime
- Non-invasive and pain-free
- Used to improve body profiles and sculpt muscles for tone and definition
CoolTone is FDA-cleared. Multiple sessions of CoolTone typically result in visibly improved strength, and definition in three (3) separate areas for a more toned stomach, tighter thighs, and firm buttocks.
Who Uses These Treatments?
CoolTone is great for anyone who wants to improve muscle tone. It works best as a complement to physical exercise to promot overall toning and strengthening. These treatments can also sometimes maintain muscle over short periods of time without much exercise, which aids in recovery from surgery.
CoolTone is also an excellent choice for people who want non-invasive, zero-downtime afterwards and have time for multiple treatments. Here are some popular examples:
- Bridal beauty timelines
- Summer body preparation
- Recovery from surgery
- General weight-loss plans
How Do These Techniques Work?
From a medical engineering perspective, both CoolTone and Emsculpt are technically similar. However, the main difference is CoolTone’s intensity of magnetic energy.
Emsculpt uses high intensity, focused electro-magnetic energy (HIFEM), while CoolTone uses magnetic muscle stimulation (MMS), which is significantly more powerful than Emsculpt’s HIFEM (about 50 percent more) at 1.35 tesla, compared with Emsculpt's .9 tesla. This allows MMS to deliver strong pulses to muscle tissues in a non-invasive manner. CoolTone's powerful MMS recruits more muscle fibers and generates stronger contractions, bypassing the skin completely and focusing solely on the muscle.
Who Makes Emsculpt and CoolTone?
CoolTone is a newer technology than Emsculpt and was developed by Allergan, the company behind Botox. Its affiliate company, ZELTIQ, manages CoolTone and CoolSculpting, a sister product.
Emsculpt was developed by BTLAesthetics, a company focused mostly on Emsculpt. BTL also offers some related medical aesthetics products, such as Exilis Ultra 360 and Emtone.
Are You Ready for CoolTone?
CoolTone is appropriate for nearly all people who desire stronger, more defined muscles in the abdomen, thighs, or buttocks and kick-start other positive lifestyle behaviors.
CoolTone patients should work with doctors and beauty planners to decide on an appropriate plan of action at is best for their health situation.
